Find out more after the jump... Daniel RadcliffeDaniel Radcliffe, star of the BBC's 1999 David Copperfield adaptation (and some other less well-known films), has declared where his political allegiances lie and also revealed his new special friendship with the Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg.

Having stated in an interview last year with Attitude magazine that he supports the Lib Dems, Radcliffe has now admitted that he's taken on some sort of advisory role for the party, and regularly speaks to Clegg about broadening its appeal to attract young voters.

In a soon to be published interview with American Vogue, Radcliffe says of the Lib Dems party leader, "he's seriously impressive" and, apparently, has pledged to spend more time in the UK in order to help increase the party's profile to teenagers. According to a source: "...Nick knows how important it is to be in touch with the youth of today..." and that Daniel has "already started to mention the Lib Dems in high-profile interviews."

Fair enough, you can't blame them for wanting a hugely well-known young actor on their side (oh hang on, we remember, he was in all those Harry Potter films wasn't he...), and maybe this could be the start of other young celebs highlighting the importance of political party involvement.

But one has to wonder just how 'in touch' with UK teenagers Radcliffe actually is? He lives in New York, hovers around the number thirty position on the list of Britain's richest young people and has regularly declared his love for the music of Kate Nash and Hard-FI. I mean, seriously... Hard-Fi?!
