- Kevin Smith's long rumored film Red State is ready to start shooting this July after being delayed again and again for nearly three years. If you asked me how excited I was for this when Smith first began talking about it, I'd have a very different opinion than I do now that we live in a post-Cop Out world.

- Deadline Hollywood has an excellent piece up about the current state of 3D and what a few experts in the field think about the explosion of 3D conversion. Spoiler alert: James Cameron isn't a fan.

- Twilight: New Moon sold over 4 million DVD copies this past weekend. Take that, recession!

- Tom Hanks' production company, Playtone, is currently in negotiations to turn the stage musical (which doesn't premiere on Broadway for another month) adaptation of Green Day's American Idiot album into a movie.
