Well, the wait might be over soon as some new footage of the latest Predator film has been revealed, and you can watch it after the jump... The world has been crying out for a decent follow up to Predator, John McTiernan's 1987 jungle set action horror film starring a bizarre mix of Apollo Creed, the governor of California and Hollywood scriptwriter Shane Black (he plays Hawkins and doesn't live very long). The first sequel, which pits a Predator against Danny Glover (who just looks relieved to be working with someone less crazy than Mel Gibson), isn't bad, but it's not a patch on the original. Oh, and the less said about the Alien vs Predator films the better.
Well, the wait might be over as Robert Rodriquez has released some footage of the new Predator movie entitled Predators (going down the Alien, Aliens route) being directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Rodriquez himself.
Audiences at the SXSW Festival were treated to a lot more footage than we get to see below, but what we do get is mouth-watering enough with a return to the series' jungle roots and a plot centring around a group of elite, professional killers being dropped into what Adrien Brody describes as a "game reserve", the game, of course, being them.
Rodriquez has been working on a Predator script for years so we have our fingers crossed that the original will finally get the sequel it deserves. Have a look at the footage and tell us if you're looking forward to this one. Predators is in cinemas from 11 August.
