Jeff BridgesAfter five nominations and career that has spanned over 40 years, Jeff Bridges, 60, finally took home his first Academy Award for his critically acclaimed performance in 'Crazy Heart.'

Bridges appeared overjoyed as he accepted his award, and took time to thank the Academy, his parents and his wife of over 30 years, Susan Geston.

"Thank you, mom and dad, for turning me on to such a groovy profession," he said with a laugh.

"This is honoring them as much as it is me," he added.

Bridges was previously nominated for 'The Last Picture Show,' 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,' 'Starman' and 'The Contender.'
