Based on the book 'Headhunters' by Jules Bass of Rankin/Bass animated feature fame, 'Monte Carlo' tells the tale of a group of American women who bail out on a less-than-thrilling vacation in Paris, and pose as wealthy socialites on holiday on Monaco.

Once upon a time, Kidman was set to star in the adaptation, but Bezucha and April Blair ('Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous') have updated the script to skew to a younger audience. Gomez plays the youngest of three characters, who is still in high school.

Meanwhile, Gomez has already shot Fox's upcoming 'Ramona and Beezus,' based on Beverly Cleary's popular kids' books.

Securing Meester's time may be tougher, however; she already has two features, 'Love Don't Let Me Down' with Gwyneth Paltrow and 'The Roommate,' in the works. As for Gomez, she's hoping that 'Monte Carlo' provides her career with a combination of gambler's luck and 'Waverly'-style magic.
