According to the Hollywood Reporter, the singer-actor will star in the Jake Kasdan-directed comedy 'Bad Teacher,' playing a substitute teacher who is about to inherit a watch-making franchise. Soon, he meets the eye of Cameron Diaz's character, a "gold-digging seventh-grade teacher," who has just been dumped by her boyfriend. The only catch: He's already dating one of her colleagues, played by Lucy Punch.

The casting news may raise a few eyebrows, as Timberlake and Diaz were previously an item. The couple parted ways in 2007.

Next up for Timberlake is the David Fincher film 'The Social Network,' about the founders of the popular Web site Facebook.
