From Michael Douglas to Al Pacino? Shia LaBeouf was spotted heading over to Al Pacino's place with a script in his hand (as per images over on JustJared), and we're wondering what's up. Here's what we do know: A few days ago Pacino replaced Robert De Niro in Dito Montiel's (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Fighting) next movie, Son of No One. In the film, which begins production in New York this March, a young cop must face down an old secret that threatens to destroy his life and family after he's assigned to a local precinct in the neighborhood where he grew up.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing Tatum is being sought for the role as that young cop, though they say a deal is not currently in place. Is there a chance that LaBeouf is now playing that cop, or is interested in playing the cop? Maybe. Maybe not. He could be meeting with Pacino about something else entirely; after all, according to IMDB, Pacino has several different films in various stages of pre-production.LaBeouf, meanwhile, is set to star in The Associate, based on the John Grisham novel, and also Transformers 3. Maybe Pacino is eying a role in that, though you'd think The Devil's Advocate quenched whatever thirst he had for sleazy lawyer roles. Nevertheless, we'll be keeping an eye on this potential on-screen duo to see where they go from here, and will report back soon. And if you know what these two are up to, definitely drop us a line ...
