According to her longtime companion, Sally Sherman, Grayson died of natural causes

After kicking off her film career with an uncredited role in 1939's 'Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever,' Grayson went on to star in a slew of popular musicals, including 'Anchors Aweigh' (1945), opposite Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, 'Show Boat' (1951) and 'Kiss Me Kate.'
