The big news today (via Variety) is not just that Kristen Wiig has developed an untitled wedding-themed comedy for herself (along with writing partner Annie Mumolo), but that Paul Feig and Judd Apatow, the creators of Freaks and Geeks, are re-teaming for the project for the first time since the series was canceled in 1999.

Feig will direct the story of two women competing to plan their friend's wedding (sounds like Bride Wars 2) with Apatow as producer. I'm not sold on the premise, but I am sold on Kristen Wiig, and I'm super-duper sold on Feig and Apatow as creative collaborators. Freaks and Geeks is a remarkable television show, and while I haven't followed Feig's career (I, like most, skipped Unaccompanied Minors), I'll follow any combination of Feig, Apatow, and Freaks and Geeks writer Mike White.

I trust Apatow, Feig, and Wiig to turn that pedestrian concept into comedy gold. Do you?
