Before James Cameron became the richest man in Hollywood, he was the blockbuster director behind 'Aliens' and 'Terminator.' And fanboys in the '90s went nuts when he announced that he was going to work on the first-ever 'Spider-Man' film. Alas, the movie got caught up in development problems, and Cameron had to abandon the project.

Well, now it appears that Cameron is back in Spidey's web. Jon Landau, Cameron's co-producer on 'Avatar,' recently told MTV that they have met with Marc Webb, director of the upcoming 'Spider-Man' reboot.

"[Webb] wants to do the next one in 3-D, which they've announced that they want to do. So, we want to try to support that as much as possible," Landau said. How Cameron and Landau will support the project remains to be seen. But if you ask us, this is already good news.

Sure, the reboot has a few hurdles to overcome: it's only Webb's second movie, and even Cameron admitted in January that taking the reigns from Sam Raimi would feel a "little bit [like] sloppy seconds."

But that he's already seeking advice from the 'Avatar' king is a good indicator of Webb's focus and enthusiasm. As long as he directs this project with a clear vision, it should turn out to be another excellent addition to the wall-crawler's movie career.

Because, really, who isn't a little excited for a 3D 'Spider-Man'?
