Christina AguileraChristina Aguilera is poised for her first foray into feature film acting and has bravely thrown off the veil of typecasting by appearing as... a burlesque dancer. So much for the throwing off the veil thing.

It's no surprise to hear that the current celebrity fad is to be turned into a movie, and the predictably titled 'Burlesque,' besides Aguilera, will also star Alan Cumming, Kristen Bell, Cher and Stanley Tucci. To give us a taste of what's to come, a special behind the scenes video has been released.

It's no surprise to hear that the current celebrity fad is to be turned into a movie, and the predictably titled 'Burlesque,' besides Aguilera, will also star Alan Cumming, Kristen Bell, Cher and Stanley Tucci. To give us a taste of what's to come, a special behind the scenes video has been released (see below).

In the video, 'Entertainment Tonight's' perma-tanned Mark Steines excitedly takes us through his "gooooood friend Cher's" new movie, diligently describing what hair colour each of the actresses will be sporting: Julianne Hough – red! Kristen Bell – brunette! (Which oddly you never get for male actors: Matt Damon – light brown! George Clooney – sort of greyish!) Before uncovering the fact that a film about half dressed women will, indeed, be "sexy."

The plot revolves around a burlesque club run by Cher and Stanley Tucci, who employ the services of small-town-girl-just-trying-to-make-it-in-a-big-world Aguilera. There are plenty of shots reminiscent of 'Moulin Rouge'/'Chicago'/every pop video since 2003, and we also learn that Cher has to get up very early and work with people who are much younger than her, so anyone that thinks acting is easy clearly hasn't watched this yet.

The film is being directed by television-actor-turned-director, Steve Antin, and is co-written by 'The Soloist's' Susannah Grant with a cinema release scheduled for the end of this year. Take a look at the video below and let us know if you're looking forward to some burlesque action.
