The Hurt LockerKathryn Bigelow's gritty Iraq war drama 'The Hurt Locker' has been winning acclaim since it was released last summer; and it's recently racked up so many awards that the indie is starting to threaten 'Avatar''s once-monolithic hold on the Best Picture Oscar. (As our Oscarologist points out, it's David vs. Goliath -- and guess who won that battle?)

The box office for Bigelow's movie was tiny, however, and as the Oscars advance, many people still haven't seen the film that could possibly win the whole thing -- or at least a Best Director Oscar for Bigelow. So we're kicking off our Oscars Movie Club with 'The Hurt Locker,' which is now available on DVD and demand.
