Director Andrew Shortell and writer Lawrence Robinson are behind the new horror-thriller, Psych:9, starring Sara Foster (The Big Bounce), Cary Elwes (Saw), Michael Biehn (Aliens) and Gabriel Mann (The Bourne Supremacy). The film gets a UK theatrical release on April 9, with a small US theatrical release expected sometime this year. Universal Pictures UK has acquired UK home entertainment rights to the film through its indi Vision label. Check out the official trailer after the jump.

In Psych:9, a young woman seeks out the mundane after a troubled past and finds peace in a hospital alone at night, collating patient records. That is, until a series of unsettling events leads her to believe the hospital may be connected to a number of recent murders in the area. To get to the truth, Roslyn must solve the mystery of her own disturbing past.

Check out my recent interview with director Andrew Shortell where he discusses the merits of the U.S. horror industry, Psych:9's connection to Eli Roth's Hostel and Cary Elwes' role as Dr. Clement in the film.
