Get your guyliner ready, everyone, because Captain Jack Sparrow is about to return to the big screen. Just not quite in the way everyone expected.

Get your guyliner ready, everyone, because Captain Jack Sparrow is about to return to the big screen. Just not quite in the way everyone expected.

Yes, according to Variety, 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Johnny Depp will be directing an upcoming documentary about the man who inspired the role of Sparrow, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Richards, whose famously craggy face puts most CGI effects to shame, previously appeared alongside Depp in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End,' in which he played Sparrow's father, Captain Teague.

But while the character's development wasn't quite that direct, there's no question that the rock star's hard partying personal style gave birth to Captain Jack Sparrow, making this latest team-up between the two (who have been friends for years) a rare case of perfect Hollywood synergy.

Details of the project are still sketchy, but Richards is in the process of completing an autobiography, which is expected to hit shelves later this year. Whether or not Depp's documentary will be an adaptation of this work or perhaps a behind the scenes concert film remains to be seen, but whatever form the movie takes, it's likely to be the coolest film set in the history of the usually staid documentary genre.

Because there's only one thing that can top Captain Jack Sparrow: two Captain Jack Sparrows together.
