Carrie UnderwoodHaven't seen enough of Carrie Underwood lately? Fear not. The country music warbler and erstwhile 'American Idol' star has signed up for her big-screen debut in the indie drama 'Soul Surfer.' The film is based on the autobiography by teenage surfing champ Bethany Hamilton, who was 13 when she lost her arm in a 2003 attack by a 15-foot tiger shark in Hawaii. Despite the setback, she hit the waves again within weeks and resumed professional competitions.

In the inspirational flick, Hamilton will be played AnnaSophia Robb, who starred in 'Bridge to Terabithia' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,' as well as Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt as Hamilton's parents. As for Underwood, she'll play a church youth leader (after all, she does have a country music audience), a move which nudges her closer to a movie career without yet having to carry a film by herself. But lately she's everywhere, beginning with her co-hosting the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. Next came this week's announcement that she'll play a flight attendant in a guest appearance on 'How I Met Your Mother.' And she has a brief music gig coming up, too, but that's a one-song-only thing on Sunday night, where she will sing the National Anthem at a little thing called the Super Bowl.

'Soul Surfer' started shooting this week, apparently because there weren't enough Saint and/or Colts fans in the cast and crew to halt production.
