In March, cast members from the ''Twilight' movies will play ball with members of the New Orleans Saints in a charity baseball game to benefit Haitian earthquake relief efforts. A mythical battle between vampires and Saints, set in gothic New Orleans? OK, we'll bite.
In March, cast members from the ''Twilight' movies will play ball with members of the New Orleans Saints in a charity baseball game to benefit Haitian earthquake relief efforts.
Team Twilight will be led by Peter Facinelli, who played vampire Carlisle Cullen in the hit movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's saga. He'll team up with his shape-shifting co-stars Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley), Alex Meraz (Paul) and Tyson Houseman (Quil Alteara) against the NFC champs the Saints, who will march in with their own team headed by fullback Kyle Eckel and tailback Lynell Hamilton.
The exhibition game is slated to take place in the Big Easy on March 20, part of a Celebrity Vampire Baseball in New Orleans event that includes autograph signings, meet-and-greets and an after-party concert.
Proceeds from the event will go to the American Red Cross and Hope for Haiti Now, as well as to local organizations such as the 9th Ward Field of Dreams and the Blood Center. The Blood Center will also be on hand to host an on-site blood drive during the event (insert vampire joke here). Tickets start at $25; Twi-hards and Saints fans alike can find out more at The Twilight Fans Trip/Vampire Basebasll Cajun-Style site.
