The Hurt Locker'The Hurt Locker' got a huge Oscar boost from the Producers Guild of America this evening, which selected Kathryn Bigelow's critically-acclaimed war drama as the best film of the year.

The film faced stiff competition from James Cameron's 'Avatar,' a heavy favorite going in to tonight's ceremony following its victory at last Sunday's Golden Globes.

Other winners included 'Up' for Best Animated Feature and 'The Cove' for Best Documentary.

With a win here, 'The Hurt Locker' has now positioned itself as the film to beat in the race for Best Picture. In the past 20 years, 13 PGA winners have gone on to win the Oscar, including last year's winner, 'Slumdog Millionaire.'
