I love when Hollywood takes two wildly different actors and pits them against each other for the same character. While it's not usually a source of breaking film news, Just Jared sources claim that both Jason Segel and Bradley Cooper are up for the co-starring gig in Cameron Diaz's upcoming comedy Bad Teacher.
Remember that one? Written by Office (and Year One) writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the film will have Diaz playing a "foul-mouthed, gold-digging seventh-grade teacher who's dumped by her sugar-daddy boyfriend and turns her attention toward a colleague." Depending which report you read, she either battles another colleague for the model teacher, or she battles the school's model teacher for the colleague. Either way, one of these guys -- should this rumor be true -- would play the love interest.
Faceman or the dude who loves Sarah Marshall. Can they not decide which type of male star they want? The funny man who always plays awkward dudes or the sexy guy who mixes action and comedy? Personally, I'd like to see Segel take it on and play it like Cooper would. It's about time he gets to be more slick and less goofy. You?
...then again, if this turns out like Year One, it might not matter...
