If it worked for blue aliens, it can probably work for Greek Gods, too.

At least that's what Warner Bros. is hoping, as Heat Vision is reporting that the studio has ordered a 3D test version of 'Clash of the Titans,' a re-imagining of the 1981 fantasy film. Warner will screen the converted scenes and make a decision whether to release the 3D version in the next 10 days.

3D is all the rage in Hollywood right now, thanks to the global success of James Cameron's 'Avatar,' which has now grossed over $500 million, domestically. For Warner Bros., the decision to show 'Titans' in 3D could result in similar, although probably not as epic, returns at the box office.

However, there's always a danger in converting films from 2D to 3D, and Warner Bros. doesn't exactly have the best track record with this process; the 3D scenes in 'Superman Returns' that were prepared for IMAX screenings were genuinely awful. Hopefully Warner has gotten the hang of it in the four years since.

If 'Clash of the Titans' is released in 3D, it will be one of two 3D movies that open on March 26th. The other is DreamWorks Animation's 'How to Train Your Dragon.'
