Hoping to follow in the successful footsteps of Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ,' producer Bill McCay is planning 'The Resurrection of the Christ,' with a 10-week shoot starting in July.

Variety is reporting that McCay will bring 'Resurrection' to life through his American Trademark production company, with a budget of $20 million. Dan Gordon ('Wyatt Earp,' 'The Hurricane') will write the screenplay, with Jonas McCord (the Antonio Banderas starrer 'The Body') set to direct. 'Resurrection' will concentrate on all the key players involved with the crucifixion, including Pontius Pilate, Herod and Judas. The film is planned for an Easter 2011 release date.
