There's a new commercial making its way around the tubes for Kellog's Raisin Bran Crunch that features an alien with a British accent named Miles Melman eating a bowl of the colon-cleaning cereal while droning on and on about life on Earth. I suppose hearing this Miles Melman complain about online dating sites is supposed to funny because he's supposed to be funny looking, but that's not exactly the reaction it got from me. My response was more along the lines of "Poor, poor Pumpkinhead, has the recession hit you, too?"
Horror fans should instantly recognize that this supposed alien is none other than the vengeance-loving witch-spawn Pumpkinhead, first created by Stan Winston in the 1988 film of the same name. More astute fans will notice that it's not the actual effects creation used in Winston's film, but it does look an awful lot like the one used in Jake West's 2006 sequel, Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes. And by an awful lot, I mean I'm pretty sure it's the exact same suit. Oh, and despite the official YouTube video calling him an alien, this Miles Melman refers to himself as a "hell beast bent on destruction." So why not just call him by his honorable name of Pumpkinhead, eh?
Check it out for yourself below and thanks to Abattoir for the find..
