One of the films I'm most excited about at this early stage of 2010 is Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher's The Horde. The French have been responsible for some of the best horror films to emerge in recent years, and while I'm not sure this Gallic take on zombie cinema will quite be on the level of Matryrs or Inside, I definitely feel like it's going to be worth checking out.

Bloody-Disgusting spotted a new clip from the film (courtesy of Allocine) and we're helping to spread the love. This scene has a little bit of everything--some zombie action, savage bites, loads of blood, and about a bazillion bullets whizzing around. If that doesn't arouse your curiosity, then maybe you should just start watching romantic comedies.

The Horde finds a group of crooked cops and vicious gangsters battling it out in an apartment building. The enemies are forced to become unlikely allies when the building their in is overrun by zombies. IFC has acquired the domestic rights for the film and will debut it in select theaters and on their VOD service. No official date has been announced, but we'll pass it along as soon as it becomes available.
