Taylor Lautner Flies to 'Northern Lights'Now that Twilight' star Taylor Lautner has got his abs squared away, he's going after a pair of wings -- pilot's wings, that is, for the high-flying action movie 'Northern Lights.' He'll play one of four cocksure aviators who "push themselves to physical and emotional limits in the unforgiving world of performance aerobatics." Contrary to earlier reports, Tom Cruise will not portray his billionaire daddy. Whether Lautner really did receive a rumored $7.5 million payday for the role is, as they say, still up in the air. John MalkovichJohn Malkovich has confirmed that he's up for the role of the villainous Vulture in 'Spider-Man 4,' though he's waiting to read the final script before committing. Could be a while before that happens, though, as the Spidey sequel has been forced to delay its production start date due to -- you guessed it -- the lack of a script. Malkovich is keeping busy in the meantime, having just signed on to replace John C. Reilly in 'Red,' a comic-book adaptation that co-stars Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, and tells of a former black-ops CIA agent hunted by a high-tech assassin. Christina RicciEat your hearts out, ladies. Christina Ricci will fulfill the dreams of women everywhere by playing the object of 'Twilight' heartthrob Robert Pattinson's affection in the erotically charged adaptation of Guy De Maupassant's 1885 novel 'Bel Ami.' Ricci will play a promiscuous young housewife who, as the good folks at Collider.com so aptly put it, "engages in a fair bit of erotic charging" with Pattinson's Georges Duroy, a 19th-century French journalist who climbs the social ladder by bedding a bevy of influential women. Saoirse Ronan'The Lovely Bones' star Saoirse Ronan is poised to go from killed to killer. She's in talks to reteam with her 'Atonement' director Joe Wright to play the titular teenage assassin in 'Hanna.' Said to be a cross between 'La Femme Nikita' and the 'Bourne' movies, the film will cast Ronan as a 14-year-old Romanian girl whose father raises her to be a cold-blooded hitwoman ... or is it hitgirl? Adriana Barazza'Babel' Oscar nominee Adriana Barazza is in talks to join the cast of 'Thor.' Though details on her role weren't forthcoming, it is believed she'll play a human in the tale of an axe-wielding Norse god (Chris Hemsworth) who is cast out of his heavenly abode in Asgard and forced to live among mortals on Earth. In other 'Thor' news, Stuart Townsend, who was set to play Thor's ally in the film, recently dropped out over "creative differences." Bummer. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Maggie Grace'Lost' alum Maggie Grace feels the need ... the need for speed. That's why she's joined Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in 'Faster,' about an ex-con (Johnson) looking to avenge his brother's murder. Salma Hayek is also in talks to board the film. [Variety]
