In the new film 'Leap Year,' directed by 'Shopgirl''s Anand Tucker, Amy Adams stars as Anna, a Type-A, Louis Vuitton-carrying Manhattanite who can't wait for her cardiologist boyfriend (Adam Scott) to propose. When he doesn't produce a ring as expected, she follows him to Ireland, where she plans to take advantage of an old Irish tradition: Leap Day, a day on which, if a woman proposes marriage, the man is unable to refuse.

This being a romantic comedy, complications and hijinks ensue, primarily in the form of a handsome Irish pub-owner (Matthew Goode). When Anna hires him as her cab-driver and guide, sparks -- and, judging by the trailer, significant amounts of mud - fly.
