According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie -- which is based on the real-life experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser -- casts McAvoy as a 25-year-old who learns he has cancer. Kendrick, who is also known for playing Jessica in the 'Twilight Saga,' will tackle the role of a green psychologist assigned to handle McAvoy's case.

Director Jonathan Levine is in charge, taking over from Nicole Holofcener, who exited due to due to locations differences. The Mandate project will begin filming next month in Vancouver.

'Hall Pass' also starts shooting next month, in Georgia. The New Line Cinema production will likely co-star 'Saturday Night Live' cast member Jason Sudeikis, who is in negotiations to join Wilson. The Farrellys got involved when the delay with their 'The Three Stooges' project opened up a block of time.

Wilson had been one of Hollywood's most bankable stars of the last decade with hits like 'Wedding Crashers,' 'Marley & Me' and 'Shanghai Noon' on his resume. In 2007, Wilson made headlines in a reported suicide attempt, and has kept a relatively low profile since. His return to broad comedy in 'Hall Pass' just might signal that Wilson's darkest days are behind.
