Leonard Nimoy may have thought J.J. Abrams' Star Trek film was his last outing as Spock, but the actor is returning to the beloved character for the new Star Trek massive multi-player online role-playing game. Spock will narrate the introduction as well as key events within the game.
Slated for a 2010 release, the game allows players to become members of Starfleet and interact through starship battles and planetside exploration. "In this game, the essence of Star Trek - exploration and adventure - lives long and prospers," Nimoy said in a press release from CBS. "I'm pleased that a whole new generation of fans will be able to discover new frontiers in the Star Trek universe."
I was hoping Abrams' Star Trek would be the last appearance of Nimoy as Spock, seeing as how the film is about as perfect a passing of the torch as anyone could ask for, but I have to admit, it will be very cool to hear his distinct voice ushering gamers into the MMORPG Trek world.
