Taylor Lautner keeps pinning down roles in high profile films.

The 17-year-old is reportedly in talks to star in a remake of 1985's 'Vision Quest.' The original high school drama starred Matthew Modine as a driven, jock wrestler and Linda Fiorentino as an older, artsy type who threatens to distract him. (The film might be best remembered, though, for a young Madonna's cameo as a lounge singer, belting out the '80s-tastic 'Crazy for You.')

Lautner is presumably in talks for the Modine role. No word yet on who his older love interest might be, or if Madonna might return. Taylor Lautner keeps pinning down roles in high profile films.

This is just the latest in a number of recent rumored projects for the 'Twilight: New Moon' star. Just last week, we reported that Lautner, an award-winning martial artist, could take on the lead role in 'Cancun', which has been described as a "'Taken'-meets-'Die Hard'" action thriller about a spring breaking college student whose girlfriend is kidnapped by Mexican drug cartels. He's also in talks to star in the film adaptation of 'Max Steel', based on the CGI cartoon about an extreme sports star who becomes a robotic crime fighter.

Lautner can next be seen in the upcoming ensemble comedy 'Valentine's Day,' along side his rumored real-life love interest, Taylor Swift. 'Valentine's Day' hits theaters on February 12, 2010.
