Shooting on the third installment of the ill-advised-stunt-themed franchise will start in late January, with the producing duo of Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze once again penning the script (Tremaine will again direct).

While not huge blockbusters, both previous 'Jackass' films have proven to be solid, low-risk moneymakers.

In 2002, the first feature inspired by the MTV series, 'Jackass the Movie,' took in $79.5 million on a production budget of only $5 million.

And in 2006, follow-up 'Jackass: Number Two' grossed $84.6 million worldwide on an $11.5 million budget.
