The past couple of days before the Christmas holiday have been packed with teaser trailers and full-length trailers for some of the hottest upcoming movies 2010 has to offer. We've had previews for Iron Man 2, Clash of the Titans, Hot Tub Time Machine (What? I can't wait for that one!) and now Shrek Forever After, which DreamWorks is calling The Final Chapter. And maybe it's a good thing to take a bit of a break from Shrek after his last time out really didn't inspire too many people to sign petitions in favor of another sequel. But then 3D happened, and, well, how do you not make a Shrek film in 3D?
So here we are -- Apple has the new teaser trailer for Shrek Forever After, which stars all the old reliable voice cast (Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas and Cameron Diaz, as well as newbies like Kathy Griffin), and finds Shrek trying to get his mojo back by striking a deal with Rumpelstiltskin, only to watch it go awry in ways that shows Shrek what Far, Far, Away would be like if he never existed. Hilarity (and a very fat cat) ensue. Check out the teaser over on Apple (or watch it after the jump) and then let us know what you think. Chances are this won't be the last outing for Shrek, as I'm sure there will be smaller holiday specials, and maybe even a direct-to-DVD outing or two, but in terms of big-screen fare this may be the last we see of our lovable green ogre, so eat it up while you can.
Shrek Ever After hits theaters on May 21, 2010.
