Disney Scraps 'Wild Hogs 2'There appears to be a fuel shortage at Disney, because the word is that 'Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride,' has run out of gas. The sequel to 'Wild Hogs,' the 2007 hit about four midlife crisis-prone men taking to their motorcycles, was set to have begun shooting next summer with Walt Becker returning as director, and stars John Travolta, Tim Allen, Ray Liotta, and William H. Macy all on board for the ride. Disney Scraps 'Wild Hogs 2'There appears to be a fuel shortage at Disney, because the word is that 'Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride,' has run out of gas. The script for 'Wild Hogs 2' had been written by Brad Copeland, and new writers were being approached to help out on the second draft.

So why is 'Wild Hogs 2' headed for the scrapyard? The reasons for the sequel's cancellation are still vague. Becker's most recent outing, 'Old Dogs' starring Travolta and Robin Williams, missed the mark at the box office amidst lame reviews.

From the looks of things, Disney's new regime has profoundly altered any future plans. Since the studio's new boss, Rich Ross, took over, nixing productions seems to be the studio's principal mission. Another Touchstone Pictures project, 'Wedding Banned' starring Williams and Anna Faris, was deep-sixed, and last month '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' also got the hook, even though it was to have begun shooting in February.
