Howard has signed to star opposite Damon in Clint Eastwood's supernatural drama 'Hereafter' for Warner Bros., Variety reports. It's not hard for many leading ladies to strike up chemistry with a co-star like Matt Damon. Now it's Bryce Dallas Howard's turn to see how sparks fly.
Howard has signed to star opposite Damon in Clint Eastwood's supernatural drama 'Hereafter' for Warner Bros., Variety reports.
Howard, who next appears in January's 'The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond' and June's 'Twilight Saga: Eclipse,' was Tobey Maguire's love interest in 2007's 'Spider-Man 3' and Christian Bale's wife in 2009's 'Terminator: Salvation.'
Damon has played opposite many of Hollywood's leading ladies, including Minnie Driver, Amanda Peet and Melanie Lynskey.
Written by esteemed British screenwriter Peter Morgan ('The Last King of Scotland,' 'Frost/Nixon'), 'Hereafter,' also produced by Eastwood and Steven Spielberg, stars Damon as a reluctant psychic who can see the dead -- but prefers not to, of course.
It also stars Cecile de France, and is set for a 2010 release.
"It's quite spiritual material, and quite romantic, too," Morgan told the Hollywood Reporter in January about 'Hereafter.' "It's the sort of piece that's not easy to describe and in the hands of different filmmakers could end up as wildly different films. Quite unlike some of my other material, which I think there were only certain ways that you could shoot it."
