We very rarely crawl out of our darkened movie theater holes to talk about the fine work our writers churn out on a consistent basis, partly because we're usually too busy coming up with new ways to entertain you, and also because we're really not the sort to toot our own horn. But we'll put those neurotic tendencies aside for a few minutes today to let you know how honored we are that one of the largest and most respected news outlets in the UK has placed Cinematical on their 100 Essential Websites list. Yup, The Guardian has chosen us as one of only four movie-related websites on their list of 100 websites you must read every day.

And not only are we one of just four movie websites mentioned, but alongside us are none other than IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Slashfilm -- three sites we whole-heartedly respect and urge you to read if you haven't done so already. So, yeah, it's a good day. But honestly we'd be nowhere if it wasn't for our staff of writers, all of whom I feel (partly biased, of course) are the best group of movie bloggers, journalists and critics that the web has to offer. I'm incredibly lucky to lead this pack of all-stars along with our Managing Editor Scott Weinberg and Associate Editor Monika Bartyzel. I've been writing for Cinematical for going on five years now, and I've been the Editor-in-Chief for over two of those years -- and without a doubt they've been the greatest years of my life.

Of course, none of it would ever be possible if it weren't for all of you out there, too, so from the very bottom of our hearts we thank you for standing by us, sticking up for us, obsessively reading us and recommending us over the years. We love movies and we love what we do, so thank you for taking the time to read, comment, discuss and geek out with us. It's been awesome, and I can't wait to see what the future holds ...
