'Zombieland' Gets a 3-D Sequel -- and So Does 'Jackass'Get ready for eye-popping 3-D sequels to 'Zombieland' and 'Jackass'.

According to Variety, Sony and Paramount are prepping sequels to the aforementioned mid-range flicks in the tri-dimensional format once reserved for big-budget animated, sci-fi and action features.

"I don't think you want to see 'Ordinary People' in 3-D, but 'Zombieland' is clearly one movie that will benefit from (the technique)," producer Gavin Palone told the trade.

The fact that 3-D TVs will start to roll out in en masse later next year is also influencing the decision to move to the format, Palone adds.

Sony is currently in talks with Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg to reprise their 'Zombieland' roles in a sequel. Released in October, the first 'Zombieland' has taken in about $85.2 million globally to date on a budget of only $24 million.

For their part, Paramount and MTV Films are further along in their efforts to produce 'Jackass 3,' with filming scheduled to begin Jan. 25.

Johnny Knoxville will return to the franchise, which has taken in $164.1 million to date off of two films that have cost a combined $16.5 million to make.
