If you can't get enough swashbuckling in 2D, you're in for a treat in 2010, when tag-team director-producer duo Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt (who brought us 'Resident Evil', 'Mortal Kombat', and 'AVP: Alien vs. Predator') are bringing The Three Musketeers to theaters in 3D.

Immediately after wrapping 'Resident Evil: Afterlife,' which is currently being filmed in Toronto, Anderson and Bolt are diving right into their new production. They promise lots of action, stirring visual motifs, and a modern feel.

"It's like no Three Musketeers you've ever seen," says Bolt. If you can't get enough swashbuckling in 2D, you're in for a treat in 2010, when tag-team director-producer duo Paul W.S. Based on the original book by French novelist Alexandre Dumas, no actors are slated to play any particular role, but Bolt admitted they are making an offer in the next few weeks to an actor to play D'Artagnan. Somehow we don't think it'll be Gabriel Byrne, who played D'Artagnan in 1998's 'The Man in the Iron Mask.'

And don't expect a lot of old-timey swordfighting and long-winded soliloquies - Bolt promises gunplay and a modern action-thriller vibe.

"It's set in 17th century France, but they're still packing heat," says Bolt with a smile.

Keep your eyes peeled for Athos, Porthos and Aramis, coming next year to a theater near you.
