Unless you've seen the bloody French thriller 'High Tension,' you probably won't know the name Cecile de France.

Prepare to see her hailed as the next great European import with the news in Variety that she'll be starring opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood's supernatural drama 'Hereafter.' (We won't count her appearance in the flop 'Around the World in 80 Days' as her big American breakthrough.) De France will play a French journalist who has a near-death experience, one of three people who are touched by death in different ways in the film. Principal photography began last month and the film is slated for a December 2010 release.

We're betting that de France is not just another pretty face; she's already netted several foreign film honors including two Cesar awards. And she wields a mean chainsaw! Only time will tell if she'll be the next foreign film darling, like Audrey Tatou, who won us over in 'Amelie' or even snag an Oscar, like Marion Cotillard did for her remarkable turn in 'La Vie en Rose.' Or simply disappear back to foreign shores like, say Virginie Ledoyen, who made a big splash in 2000's 'The Beach.'
