Once word got out that Paranormal Activity is "one of the scariest movies ever made," the fans began to flock to the theaters to experience the sensation that has surpassed The Blair Witch Project as the most profitable film of all time. With only a meager marketing budget (approximately $10 million), much of the success of the film is being attributed to the fans, not only through their positive reviews of the films, but through voting for the film so as to garner wider releases over the course of a month.

As a result, Paramount wants to thank the fans by giving you the opportunity to have your name featured on the DVD. If you head over to the Paranormal Activity Project before noon PST on November 9th and fill out your information, your name will appear on the DVD with a whole host of others as a way of saying thanks for contributing to the overall success of the hit indie thriller.

From the press release, via Shock:

"The success of Paranormal Activity would not have been possible without the million-plus fans who went to the ParanormalMovie.com official website and demanded the movie in their home town," says Amy Powell, Senior Vic e President, Interactive Marketing, Paramount Pictures. "They demanded the movie and they got it. So now we are giving them credit where credit is due."

At the time of this writing, Paranormal Activity has grossed close to $89 million, which is, you know, not that bad for a film made for $15,000. The best part? It has yet to be released internationally. This movie is a juggernaut, destroying everything in its path, and ya know what? It deserves it.
