Seven years after making his film debut in the quasi-autobiographical '8 Mile,' Eminem is set to star in and produce 'Shady Talez,' a 3D horror film directed by veteran actor/director Robert Townsend ('The Five Heartbeats,' 'The Parent 'Hood'), according to Screen Daily.

Billed as a cross between 'Creepshow' and 'The Twilight Zone,' 'Talez' will be written by 'Underworld' creator Kevin Grevioux and writer/producer Dallas Jackson. Along with Em (ne Marshall Mathers), child star Bobb'e J Thompson ('Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs') has been pegged to star in the film.

Jackson and Grevioux are also working with the Marvel Icons imprint to turn 'Talez' into a four-issue comic book set for release next year.

2010 should be a busy year for Jackson in particular, who is working on a remake of the 1985 cult classic 'The Last Dragon' with Samuel Jackson and is currently writing 'The Little Homiez,' billed as a cross between 'Home Alone' and 'The Rugrats.'

Eminem surprised many with his strong, convincing role as Jimmy 'B-Rabbit' Smith in '8 Mile,' playing an altered version of himself growing up in Detroit, and as Man With Balls in Face #1 with Sacha Baron Cohen at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year. We're hoping that the combination of Grevioux, Jackson and Em will lean more towards Stephen King's 'Cat's Eye' and less towards 'Tales From the Hood.' What do you think?
