Variety reports that the studio has accepted a pitch from writers Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer for 'What Boys Want,' a comedy which will feature Disney Channel luminary Selena Gomez reading the minds of the opposite sex.

According to the trade paper, New Line is in advanced negotiations with the 17-year-old Gomez, who has earned a mammoth following thanks to her starring role in the Disney Channel's 'The Wizards of Waverly Place.' 'What Boys Want' would mark her first major headlining turn in a feature film ... but we have no doubt that her magic will translate nicely from the small to the big screen.
