Racial stereotypes in two of the voices for 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'? Hardly, says one of the movie's star voice actors.

"I think sometimes these things get exaggerated for comedic purposes," said Jess Harnell, who voiced Ironside, at a Santa Monica press event for 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's' DVD and Blu-ray release Oct. 20.

The characters of twin robots Mudflap, voiced by Reno Wilson, who is black, and Skids, voiced by Tom Kenny, who is white, drew fire around the film's release for what some critics called offensive racial stereotypes in the characters.

In her June review, New York Times critic Manohla Dargis called the characters "conspicuously cartoonish, so-called black voices that indicate that minstrelsy remains as much in fashion in Hollywood as when, well, Jar Jar Binks was set loose by George Lucas."
