Welcome to Captain's Log -- your (semi) daily round-up of sci-fi randomness from around the web. Here's what's happening today:

-- If you already questioned how Avatar looks on a small computer screen, how do you think it'll translate to print? IGN talked to producer Jon Landau, and he says there are a lot of stories and side plots removed from the screenplay that are itching to find an audience in print.

-- Quiet Earth gushes over the bloody smile and concept teaser of the Bad Robot (watch it after the jump).

-- In honor of the 50th anniversary of The Twilight Zone's CBS debut, TV Squad strives to pick the series' ten best episodes.

-- Where the Wild Things Are isn't exactly a book jam-packed with information for the big screen, so SciFi Wire outlines Spike Jonze's additions.

-- Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley spliced together one weird-looking creature in the Splice clip hanging out over at Rotten Tomatoes (watch it after the jump).

-- Eliza Dushku is preparing to answer fan questions over at MTV. What will she say about the abysmal Dollhouse numbers?

--
SuperHeroHype has shared the details for the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra DVD, due out November 3rd. Unsurprisingly, the special features are special effects-heavy.

-- Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) will appear in the last three episodes of the new series Stargate Universe, "playing Kiva, the strong-willed commander of an alien incursion force," according to Total Sci-Fi Online.
