'West Side Story' (1961)

When you're a Jet, let's face it ... you're a Jet all the way (snap, snap).

'Save the Last Dance' (2001)

Julia Stiles plays a fallen ballerina who learns hip-hop from Sean Patrick Thomas and rediscovers her love of dance. It's sort of like her sexy, drunken table dance in '10 Things I Hate About You,' except in a club and with a smokin'-hot partner.

'Dance With Me' (1998)

Free-spirited Chayanne tries to teach Vanessa Williams how to "let the music free your soul." Hmm, we thought music was supposed to heal your soul ... or make you lose control ... Well, apparently music can do lots of things, including turn the heat waaay up at this Latin dance club.

'Scent of a Woman' (1992)

Al Pacino may be blind, but he's no fool. The lovely Gabrielle Anwar is putty in his hands as he romances her with his smooth tango skillz -- and amazingly, he gets through the entire thing without one utterance of "Hoo-ah!" (He's probably thinking it, though.)

'Strictly Ballroom' (1992)

Poor Scott (Paul Mercurio) just wants to dance his own steps at the Pan Pacific Grand Prix. Good thing he hooked up with clumsy newbie Fran (Tara Morice), who turns out to be a) not so clumsy and b) pretty hot without her glasses on.

'Top Hat' (1935)

It's nearly impossible to pick one scene from Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers' many films; but we'll go with this one, in which Rogers resists Astaire because she think he's married, but then realizes that dancing cheek to cheek with him is -- in a word -- heaven.

'Pulp Fiction' (1994)

Tweaking John Travolta's 'Saturday Night Fever' role with this kitschy dance contest scene, Travolta and Uma Thurman taught moviegoers a lesson: Fancy hipster footwork is all fun and games until someone OD's on heroin and has to get an injection of adrenaline to the heart.

'Saturday Night Fever' (1977)

It's been a while since John Travolta and Karen Gorney's white polyester duds and bouffant hair were considered über-hip. Still, there's no denying this scene's deliciousness as an all-time dance classic. Long live disco!

'Singin' in the Rain' (1952)

Dance legend Gene Kelly had two brilliant dance partners in this movie: Cyd Charisse, and his umbrella. We've never been quite so happy to be rained on as he is, but damned if we don't always aspire to his levels of wet whimsy.

'Dirty Dancing' (1987)

Nobody puts Baby in a corner. Admit it, you've already seen this perfect, climactic dance scene with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey a hundred times, so you don't even need to watch the clip. Just start humming '(I've Had) the Time of My Life,' and your memory will fill in the rest.
