James Cameron unveils 'Avatar' footage at Comic-Con, the 'Twilight Saga: New Moon' cast sends Comic-Con fans into a frenzy, a '300' sequel moves forward, and more of today's top movie headlines. James Cameron unveiled 25 minutes of footage from 'Avatar,' his first commercial feature film since 1997's 'Titanic,' to a packed house at Comic-Con yesterday -- and fans responded with unbridled enthusiasm. But don't fret if you weren't there for the panel; Cameron announced that Fox will be taking over as many 3-D and IMAX screens as possible on Aug. 21 to give fans a free 15-minute look at the film, whose mix of CGI, motion-capture and green screen technology is said to be groundbreaking. Yep, sounds like Cameron is still ... king of the world! [Variety] | [Risky Biz Blog]

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner sent 'Twilight' fans into a frenzy when they took to the stage to discuss their upcoming vamp sequel, 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon.' In addition to face time with the sexy cast, the squealing fans were treated to two new clips from the film and some comic relief from director Chris Weisz, who said he's "been stalking Rob Pattinson for about 10 years now." Frank Miller has just completed a draft of a graphic novel sequel to the hit sword-and-sandals(-and-abs) epic '300.' It is now up to Warner Bros. whether to send the follow-up into production. Two potential roadblocks: Director Zach Snyder has yet to commit to the sequel and (spoiler alert!) Gerard Butler's heroic Leonidas bit the big one in the original. Still ... This. Could. Be. Sparta. Again. [Risky Biz Blog]

Another year, another 'Saw' movie. That's right, with 'Saw VI' set to bow this October, Lionsgate has announced that 'Saw VII' has already been greenlit, with 'Saw V' helmer David Hackl onboard to direct. Can't wait. [Variety]

Jaime King and Lucas Cruikshank are feeling 'Emo Boy.' Based on the eponymous graphic novels, the film will focus on the travails of a melodramatic high-school boy (Cruikshank) who believes he possesses "emo powers." King will play his "emo sympathizer" teacher. Sounds incredibly ... sensitive. [The Hollywood Reporter]
