Joss Whedon produced and co-wrote the film with director Drew Goddard, Whedon's collaborator on Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the director of Cloverfield. The site features a short video that's basically a POV shot of the camera creeping up to -- what else -- a cabin in the woods.
Whedon and Goddard have stayed pretty tight-lipped about the film's plot, only hinting that it will be a twist on the traditional forest-set horror movie. Dollhouse cast member and recent Cabin in the Woods recruit Fran Kranz is calling the film a "monster movie," and online reports based on an early draft of the script have suggested the "monster" could be anything from a prop alien to an "Angry Molesting Tree."
Whedon delivered the goods with his unique spin on classic horror movie tropes (Buffy, Angel), the sci-fi space opera (Firefly and Serenity), and the musical (Dr. Horrible, Buffy's "Once More with Feeling"). Are you looking forward to his take on the slasher horror flick?
Cabin in the Woods hits theaters Feb. 5, 2010.
