For years, Howard Stern has talked up a remake of the original crude teen flick, 'Porky's' (1982). Now, the redo is a go, slated for a 2011 release with Savage Steve Holland tapped for the script.

Besides being the granddaddy of teen-raunch humor, 'Porky's' remains Canada's top-grossing film (taking inflation into account -- and who doesn't?). It was shot in Florida, directed by an American ... and financed by a Canadian production company. A number of actors from both sides of the border used the film as a launching pad. Let's see where they landed.

Porky's': Where Are They Now?

    Dan Monahan

    Played: Pee Wee

Then: A child actor, Monahan started with small parts in 'Eight Is Enough,' 'How the West Was Won' and ABC Afterschool Specials. His big break came as the super horny, socially awkward teen who wore a condom to a date. Edward "Pee Wee" Morris became Monahan's most famous role.

    Dan Monahan

    Played: Pee Wee

Now: He reprised Pee Wee in 'Porky's II: The Next Day' and 'Porky's 3: Revenge.' Never recapturing his 'Porky's' fame, Monahan had small roles in 'The Night Flier,' 'Baby Geniuses' and 'Romeo and Juliet' -- not the Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes remake, the 2000 straight-to-video version.

    Boyd Gaines

    Played: Coach Brackett

Then: Playing a student in the film 'Fame,' Gaines graduated to PE Coach in 'Porky's.' During the film, he becomes obsessed with Kim Cattrall's character and cannot figure out why she's known as Lassie. He finds out when they get intimate (and loses his job for his troubles). At least it allows him to cast off his teacher hat and join the crew as they destroy Porky's bar. During the movie's filming, Gaines also taped 'One Day at a Time,' where he played dentist Mark Royer for four seasons.

    Played: Coach Brackett

Now: The Georgia native has continued working in film and television, but really found his calling on Broadway. Since the late '80s, his stage roles have included parts in such plays as 'She Loves Me,' 'Cabaret,' 'Anything Goes,' 'Twelve Angry Men,' 'Pygmalion' and most recently 'Gypsy.' He has received four Tony Awards for his work. To round out his resume, Gaines also voices numerous audiobooks. When asked which medium he prefers, the actor quipped, "I just like to work." Touche.

    Kim Cattrall

    Played: Honeywell

Then: The future Samantha Jones of 'Sex and the City,' Cattrall hinted at her TV future as oversexed cheerleading coach Ms. Honeywell. Coach Brackett can't figure out why she's known as Lassie until he gets her up to the boy's locker room. Overcome by the smells of men, she attacks him and howls during their lovemaking. When she took the role, the English-Canadian already had a long list of day-player parts on such shows as 'Starsky & Hutch,' 'The Incredible Hulk' and 'Charlie's Angels.'

    Kim Cattrall

    Played: Honeywell

Now: Cheesy '80s comedies were good to Cattrall. She was a bombshell cadet in 'Police Academy,' Kurt Russell's love interest in 'Big Trouble in Little China' and the title role in 'Mannequin.' 'SATC' saved her from becoming just a memory, reinventing her as the ultimate cougar. Currently she's set to star in another 'SATC' movie and her own HBO series called 'Sensitive Skin,' about a middle-aged mother in New York who rediscovers her sexuality. That's incredible range, Cattrall.

    Bob Clark

    Writer/Director

Then: The New Orleans native turned down offers to play pro football in favor of completing a drama degree at the University of Miami. At first it seemed Clark would find notoriety in horror. He directed the low-budget cult films 'Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things,' 'Dead of Night' and 'Black Christmas.' The latter film was shot in Canada and set the stage for 'Porky's' -- that's where he found the company to finance his adolescent raunch-fest.

    Bob Clark

    Writer/Director

Now: Clark's career is noted for its peculiar, strangely endearing variety of successes and low points. While he directed a number of successful films in diverse genres, including the holiday classic 'A Christmas Story,' he also helmed head-scratchers like 'Rhinestone,' 'The Karate Dog' 'Baby Geniuses' and its sequel. Sadly, Clark and his 22-year-old son were killed in a head-on collision with an intoxicated driver on the Pacific Coast Highway in 2007. Longtime collaborator Deren Abram produced and directed a documentary about his life entitled 'ClarkWorld.'

    Art Hindle

    Played: Ted Jarvis

Then: The Halifax native became a stockbroker by his 21st birthday. He changed his career path when he began acting in Toronto Workshop Productions, eventually moving his wife and four kids to Hollywood where he began working on shows like 'Starsky & Hutch' and 'Baretta.' As the local police officer Ted Jarvis in 'Porky's,' he stands up for his younger bro Mickey by helping the gang take down Porky and the corrupt sheriff.
