We think de Ravin can hold her own against a dreamy vampire heartthrob -- assuming 'Twilight' fanatics hide their stakes and maintain ample distance, we see an illustrious and boundless career for this budding star. Does she compare to Bella (Kristen Stewart)? We did some research on the blonde beauty, and we like what we see. The 'Twilight' Nation can add yet another starlet to its hit list. We're referring to the recent announcement that Aussie actress Emilie de Ravin has signed on to play the love interest of 'Twilight' hunk Robert Pattinson in the upcoming Allen Coulter film 'Remember Me.' But before that, de Ravin will share the screen with acting vets Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard in this summer's crime drama 'Public Enemies.'

De Ravin was born on Dec. 27, 1981, in Victoria, Australia, and is of French and British heritage. She has two sisters, is an avid gardener, loves sushi and is allergic to peanuts. By our count, that's two similarities with Pattinson right off the bat (two sisters, British blood). Are you nervous yet, Team Edward?
An accomplished dancer from the ages 9 to 15, de Ravin attended the prestigious Australian Ballet School, but later gave up her passion to pursue acting. She also stands at a mere 5'2" – wonder if that had anything to do with her decision?
A self proclaimed "homebody," de Ravin might get along with her future co-star, who is notorious for his discomfort and bewilderment by the sudden wave of fame that's hit him. (See what Pattinson told us earlier this year about his massive success.)
Star in the Making
The petite blonde made her acting debut back in 1999 in Canada's 'The Beastmaster' before landing on WB's hit sci-fi series 'Roswell' as a pregnant alien. She proceeded to guest star on popular dramas 'CSI: Miami,' 'Navy NCIS' and 'The Handler.'
It was in 2004 that de Ravin caught her big break, scoring a role as the pregnant crash survivor on the award-winning ABC drama 'Lost.' Her character's exit in 2008 has garnered much speculation of a possible return.
Indie Gem ...
De Ravin is something of an indie teen queen. She played a pregnant (we see a trend here) kidnapping victim in 2005's multi-award-winning Rian Johnson-helmed 'Brick' (making her debut at Sundance in 2005 where the film picked up the Special Jury Prize) and Brin Hill's 2008 indie 'Ball Don't Lie.'
... Or Scream Queen?
The actress is no stranger to otherworldly villains (a la 'Twilight's' shiny-skinned vampires), having starred in two horror film remakes -- a less than memorable TV reboot of the classic 'Carrie' in 2002 and Alexandre Aja's revamp of Wes Craven's 'The Hills Have Eyes' in 2006.
Sexy & Soon-to-be Single
The blonde bombshell has appeared on the Maxim Hot 100 list three separate times. Although ranking at an impressive #47 after her 2004 debut on 'Lost', she dropped to #65 in 2006 and #68 in 2008. Still, that's not bad, considering that in, like, half her roles, she's played visibly pregnant characters.
Status: Single! After four years of dating, de Ravin wed actor Josh Janowicz in June 2006, only to separate six months later and continue to fuel rumors of an on-again, off-again union. Shortly after the announcement of her new role alongside Pattinson, de Ravin's rep confirmed that she and her husband of three years have filed for divorce.
