'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' inspires a brilliant piece of filmmaking (seriously).

The premise sounds as gimmicky and hokey as can be: An uneducated young man from the slums of Mumbai goes on India's 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' and makes it (almost?) all the way, with each question and answer related to a flashback from his hard knock life.

But Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire' is one of the most pleasant surprises of 2008 -- as we wrote in our coverage of the Toronto Film Festival (where it proved to be the most talked about crowd pleaser), it's like 'City of God' meets 'Quiz Show,' but more feel-good.

Meet the film's hero, Jamal Malik (Dev Patel), as he faces off against the Indian Regis Philbin in this exclusive clip.

'Slumdog Millionaire' opens in limited engagement November 12.
