Award-winning doc fuels the argument for alternative energy.

The legacy that began with Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' continues with 'Fuel,' as documentarian Joshua Tickell takes to the screen with a cinematic plea to save the environment.

Sorry, no PowerPoint presentation here, though. Instead Tickell borrows from the Michael Moore/Morgan Spurlock school of filmmaking in interweaving his personal story (he holds the oil industry accountable for his mother's sickness) into the bigger picture that is the energy crisis.

And what would an issues doc be without some star power? Sheryl Crow, Woody Harrelson and Julia Roberts all appear, among others.

The powerful film, which played to standing ovations and won the Audience Documentary Award at Sundance, opens limited November 14.
