His first credit was as character animator on Peter Pan, a credit he also had on 101 Dalmatians, Robin Hood and The Rescuers. He also worked as an animator on half-live-action pics Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Mary Poppins, as a writer on The Black Cauldron and as a title designer on live-action pics Freaky Friday, The Strongest Man in the World and No Deposit, No Return.   • Edward Yang (1947-2007) - Taiwanese filmmaker who wrote/directed Yi Yi, Taipei Story, A Brighter Summer Day and Mahjong. He also acted in Hsiao-hsien Hou's A Summer at Grandpa's. Most recently Yang was to write and direct an animated film produced by Jackie Chan, but the project was cancelled when the filmmaker became ill. He died of colon cancer June 29, in Beverly Hills.
