To be honest, the last time I truly enjoyed the Terminator franchise, acid wash was still a viable fashion choice. So I've watched the The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV project with only a mild curiosity as to how the story would translate on the small screen. But an interview on IGN with Serenity's Summer Glau is a tasty piece of gossip for any Terminator fan. Glau spoke guardedly about finishing up work on an unnamed Fox pilot, saying, "Well, I'm not supposed to say yet. It's supposed to be a surprise. But it's killing me, because they've announced some of the other characters." Immediately, the rumor mill went into overdrive and the word spread that the "unnamed pilot" was Chronicles.

Variety has since confirmed that Glau will be joining the cast of Chronicles this fall. The only mystery left is what her role is going to be. The producers have already announced that Lena Headey will be playing Sarah Connor. So the question is, whom does Glau play? So far, the money is on her playing a Terminator in the story, but at this point it's all just speculation. Fans of Glau's work in Serenity and Firefly are already offering up her experience in the action story as proof that she is suited to the role. Until Fox makes their official announcement though, speculation is all we've got.
