I'll let you in on a not-very secret secret: I absolutely love, admire, and adore Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.  Love it. So when JoBlo pointed me towards the MySpace user who won the right to "host" the all-new Pirates 2 trailer, I went giddy.

Unfortunately, corporate synergy often works better in theory than in it does in practice, which explains why it took me almost two hours to get the trailer downloaded. Oh, I'm sorry; I mean "the first 2/3rds of the trailer and I couldn't get the rest no matter how hard I tried." Speaking as an unapologetic Pirates geekboy, the trailer looks pretty darn fantastic, full of swordfights and Depps and crustaceanmen and Knightleys and waterlogged mutants and Blooms and huge giant krakens ... but in order to get the final third of the trailer into my fevered brain, I had to visit YouTube.com -- where the downloads are quicker but the picture quality is lamer.

Expect the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest trailer to be hosted somewhere better sometime real soon. (Get on it, Apple Quicktime!) Meanwhile, I'm gonna go watch the clip again.
